The Security and Rights Collaborative, a Proteus Fund Initiative, makes strategic grants to protect and restore the civil rights of individuals whose communities have been targeted for profiling, surveillance, hate crimes and discrimination in the post-9/11 security environment of the United States. Our focus is on local advocacy within America’s Muslim, Arab and South Asian (MASA) communities, and supporting their partnerships with allies in the civil rights and racial justice movements to build an inclusive rights movement that addresses the root causes of race-based discrimination.
