We Keep Us Safe – Community Safety in a Transformative Frame is a short video conversation between Yul-san Liem, Director of Development & Operations for the Justice Committee, and Lorraine Ramirez, Executive Director of Funders for Justice, about reimagining safety to keep our communities safe. Lorraine and Yul-san discuss their personal backgrounds and how they got involved in organizing, particularly focusing on police violence and systemic racism, connecting these roots with the idea of community safety through examples like the Cop Watch program, and the importance of supporting and uplifting families who have lost loved ones to police violence. The conversation touches on the need for community-based solutions and the importance of divest-invest strategies in philanthropy.
